Six-year-old Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 32 at Muir Avenue

 
CHICO, CA (February 22, 2022) — A 6-year-old girl died in a pedestrian crash on Highway 32 just after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 17.
 
According to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office, the incident happened on Highway 32 near Muir Avenue.
 
CHP said a driver of a Chevy Suburban identified as 55-year-old Kevin T. Wilkerson of Chico traveled east on Highway 32. Then some pedestrians ran into the roadway.
 
The driver braked but was not able to stop on time and struck the girl.
 
Medics rushed her to Enloe Medical Center. Then they transported her to UC Davis Medical Center, where she died Friday morning.
 
CHP said drugs or alcohol do not appear as a factor in this incident.
 
The investigation about the crash is still ongoing.
