Hit-and-Run Driver Strikes Two Pedestrians on Marine Avenue in Gardena Killing One and Sending Another to Hospital

 
GARDENA, CA (February 12, 2024) A 5-year-old child was killed in a pedestrian hit-and-run crash at Marine Avenue and Budlong Avenue in Gardena on Sunday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 10:30 a.m. on February 11. According to the Gardena Police Department, an unknown driver was traveling eastbound on Marine approaching Budlong. They turned north on Budlong and truck two pedestrians in the crosswalk.
 
After the crash, the driver then fled the scene without rendering aid.
 
The child suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Paramedics rushed the second pedestrian to a nearby hospital in an unknown condition.
 
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large. An investigation is underway. Anyone with further information on either crash is urged to contact investigators at 310-217-6189.
