Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 108 Causes Lane Closure near Stockton Road in Sonora

 
SONORA, CA (October 17, 2022) – Five people sustained injuries in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 108 on Friday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on October 14 at about 3:50 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a van and a Chevy Suburban collided just before the Stockton Road off-ramp.
 
The impact of the collision damaged the right side of the Suburban.
 
Emergency crews rendered aid to five injured victims. As per reports, the victims suffered minor to moderate injuries.
 
The van and the Chevy reportedly blocked the eastbound lane, causing a traffic backup. Responders cleared the wreckage and reopened the lane at 5:10 p.m.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
