2 People Killed in Rollover Crash on Tecopa Hot Springs Road in Inyo County

 
INYO COUNTY, CA (October 17, 2022) — Two people died in a rollover accident on Tecopa Hot Springs Road near Furnace Creek Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, Inyo County Sheriff’s officers were dispatched to reports of a rollover crash on October 7 around 4:10 a.m.
 
Investigators believe a 40-year-old woman driving a Ford Mustang northbound on Tecopa Hot Springs Road lost control of her car for unknown reasons. Her vehicle subsequently overcorrected to the left, then back to the right, before spinning clockwise and veering off the road.
 
Police believe her car left the road when her front tires struck soft mud and flipped onto its roof, submerging the vehicle in a marsh.
 
Arriving crews found the 40-year-old and her 38-year-old male passenger with fatal injuries. Authorities have not released their names at this time. However, authorities plan to investigate the crash and release the victims’ names.
