4 Killed in Car Accident with Semi-Truck on 5 Freeway in Fresno County

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (March 3, 2022) — Four people died in a car accident with a semi-truck on the 5 Freeway near Derrick Avenue on Wednesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Partol, the fatal two-vehicle accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. For unknown reasons, a minivan carrying seven people crashed into a parked 18-wheeler on the shoulder.
 
Due to the impact, the vehicle stayed stuck beneath the 18-wheeler with the rest of the vehicle found a few yards south.
 
Soon after, paramedics and authorities responded and confirmed four people dead, rushing three others to a hospital with major injuries.
 
As for the driver, he or she was not inside the truck.
 
At this time, detectives have no information as to what led to the crash. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm any outstanding details.
