LAMONT, CA (March 3, 2022) – A 17-year-old driver was killed in a car accident on Hall Road on Tuesday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on March 1 at about 9:00 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, an eastbound 2014 Acura veered right and jumped over a raised concrete curb.
 
Then, the vehicle hit a block wall and a rod-iron fence near Myrtle Avenue.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the 17-year-old driver dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, an ambulance transported another 17-year-old boy to Kern Medical for treatment of major injuries.
 
CHP ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
