4 Hurt, Drunk Driving Accident at Drive-Thru on Convoy Street in Kearny Mesa

 
KEARNY MESA, CA (October 2, 2023) — Four people suffered injuries after a DUI driver crashed at a drive-thru on Convoy Street near Kearny Mesa Road.
 
According to the San Diego Police, the two-car crash happened around 6:40 p.m. Saturday. For possible DUI-related reasons, a driver of a Toyota Tacoma struck a curb after traveling northbound on Kearney Mesa Road. Subsequently, the vehicle went airborne and landed on a Honda sedan stopped at one of the drive-thru windows of a fast-food restaurant.
 
Due to the crash, the 23-year-old male driver of the Toyota Tacoma suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital. The 40-year-old female driver of the Honda and her two elderly passengers reported minor injuries in the crash.
 
According to an investigation, officers believe the Tacoma driver was impaired. However, if anyone has more to add to this crash, please call the San Diego police officers.
