4 Hurt in Police Pursuit Crash on Niles Street in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 7, 2023) — Four people were injured in a police chase accident on Niles Street and Fairfax Road.
 
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, the multi-vehicle crash happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday. As deputies were in pursuit of a felony suspect, the driver failed to comply and led police on a chase.
 
Not long after, the suspect crashed into at least one car, including a driver who was attempting a turn onto Niles Street from Fairfax Road.
 
Due to the collision, the suspect’s vehicle caught fire.
 
Soon after, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office and Kern Fire Department responded. Paramedics took four people to a nearby hospital for treatment. Although authorities did not release the suspect’s name, they did arrest the individual.
