4 Hurt in Head-On Crash on Highway 18 in Antelope Valley
ANTELOPE VALLEY, CA (April 23, 2024) — Four people were airlifted following a head-on accident on Highway 18 and 248th Street.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-car crash happened around 4:15 p.m. Sunday. Under unclear circumstances, a white Toyota Tacoma and a silver Toyota Corolla collided in a head-on fashion. Subsequently, Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene and found four people with injuries, including two people in critical condition.
In addition, authorities found an injured dog in the crash and contacted Animal Control to rescue the canine. Due to the accident, police issued a SigAlert for Highway 18 in both directions. Authorities did not say what led to the accident, but an investigation should confirm the details.
Head-on collisions happen when a driver steers out of his or her lane. If you are tired, pull over. Never let your phone distract you from the road. Especially when driving on two-lane highways, keep your eyes forward and both hands on the wheel. You can decrease the dangers of an accident by driving carefully and responsibly.
