CHULA VISTA, CA (October 27, 2021) — Three people face injuries after a car crashes into a boat that fell off a trailer on the 5 Freeway near Palomar Street early Monday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the major injury accident happened around 12:30 a.m. For unknown reasons, a 30-foot boat fell off a moving trailer before an oncoming 2004 Mercedes Benz E320 slammed into it.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded and transported two people to UCSD Medical Center with major trauma. Meanwhile, a team tended to the 48-year-old male driver with less serious injuries.
 
At this time, police have no information on the driver towing the boat. However, any witnesses with information on this crash should contact the CHP.
