3 Hospitalized in DUI Accident on Highway 33 near Hudson Avenue [Firebaugh, CA]

DUI Crash on Highway 33 in Firebaugh Sends Three to Hospital

 
FIREBAUGH, CA (November 14, 2022) – Three people were hospitalized in a DUI accident on Highway 33 north of Firebaugh on Saturday evening, November 12.
 
The accident happened around 7:00 p.m. near Hudson Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a woman was driving southbound on the highway when she veered off of the road onto the righthand shoulder.
 
She then overcorrected into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with another vehicle.
 
The second vehicle was occupied by a man, a woman and a child. Paramedics took both the man and woman to a hospital with major injuries. The juvenile only had minor injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the woman who overcorrected also sustained major injuries. Authorities believe she was driving under the influence at the time of the crash.
 
Highway 33 was temporarily closed in both directions as CHP investigated the crash.
