3 Killed in Fiery Accident with Tree on Highway 101in Ukiah

 
UKIAH, CA (April 6, 2023) — Three people died in Tuesday’s fiery crash with a tree on Highway 101 near Pomo Lane.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the single-vehicle crash happened on Highway 101 around 6:12 a.m.
 
For unknown reasons, a driver in a northbound 2001 Toyota Echo allowed the vehicle to travel off the east edge. As a result, the car crashed into a tree and the vehicle sustained major front-end damage.
 
Moments later, a fire engulfed the vehicle and the driver and two unidentified passengers perished at the scene.
 
Authorities do not know if drugs or alcohol played a factor.
 
Following the accident, a coroner arrived at the scene and transported the deceased to Eversole Mortuary. More on this crash will be investigated by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office. However, if anyone has more information, please call California Highway Patrol, Ukiah Area at (707) 467-4420.
