3 Children Hospitalized, Bounce House Lifts Into Air From Helicopter Downward Draft at Police Station on Haven Avenue and Civic Center Drive

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA (May 4, 2022) — Three children were hurt after a bounce house was lifted into the air during a helicopter landing at a police station on Haven Avenue.

According to reports, the incident happened at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. When the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department held its annual open house, the community celebrated, including having a Bounce House available for children.

However, as a County Sheriff’s helicopter tried to land on the rooftop helipad of the police station, the downward draft sent the bounce house lifting from the ground, harming three children inside.

Following the incident, the three children sought hospital care as a precaution.

At this time, the county sheriff’s department and the Federal Aviation Administration have an investigation underway. If anyone has more information to add, please call the FAA.
