Three People Trapped after Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 29 near Mount St. Helena

 
CALISTOGA, CA (December 26, 2022) – Three people sustained serious injuries following a two-vehicle accident on Highway 29, Saturday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on December 24, at about 4:47 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a Honda SUV and a Nissan Leaf hatchback collided near Mount St. Helena.
 
The impact of the collision trapped three people in the wreckage. After extrication, all three victims were airlifted to trauma centers.
 
Responders temporarily closed the crash site to make way for clearing operations and the helicopter. As per reports, the closure lasted for more than an hour.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
