2 People Dead in 2-Car Crash on 40 Freeway in Needles

 
NEEDLES, CA (May 31, 2022) — Two people died in a car accident on the 40 Freeway near 5 Mile Road on Monday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle crash happened around 12:30 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a pickup truck and a passenger vehicle crashed on the 40 Freeway.
 
Upon impact, two people from the pickup truck were reportedly ejected from the cabin and suffered fatal injuries.
 
Soon after, firefighters from San Bernardino County and CHP officers reached the scene. Crews called a helicopter to arrive at the crash site, where authorities closed the left lane of the westbound freeway for the cleanup.
 
At this time, information about the primary cause of the crash needs more examination. Although, if any witnesses have news on this deadly collision, please call the CHP.
