Dog, Driver Killed in Rollover Crash on 40 Freeway in Barstow
BARSTOW, CA (March 11, 2024) — One person and a dog died in a rollover accident on the 40 Freeway near Hector Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened around 4:35 p.m. on March 8. For an unknown reason, a driver lost control of a silver vehicle. Subsequently, the westbound vehicle overturned eight times before landing near the center divider.
Soon after, San Bernardino County Fire responded and learned that a dog ejected from the vehicle passed away. In addition, they located one person inside the wreckage with fatal injuries.
Authorities did not release the victim’s name or an explanation for the crash. However, the Barstow CHP station will look into this matter further.
