Police Arrest Jack Varganagl for DUI after Car Crash in Irvine, 2 People Killed

 
IRVINE, CA (July 19, 2022) – Two people died and police arrested Jack Varganagl after a DUI fiery crash in Irvine Sunday evening on July 17.
 
The fatal crash happened around 8:00 p.m. at Meadow Valley and Spring Valley. According to the Irvine Police Department, a Mini Cooper and Volkswagen Golf collided at the intersection. The impact caused the Mini Cooper to burst into flames.
 
When officers arrived, they found the driver and passenger of the burning car both dead inside.
 
Varganagl, a 20-year-old Irvine resident, was injured. He was the driver of the Golf. Police determined that he was driving under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash.
 
Police arrested Varganagl and booked him on suspicion of DUI.
