2 Hurt, Van Crashes Into Disabled Vehicle on Highway 101 in Mendocino County

 
MENDOCINO COUNTY, CA (June 13, 2023) — Two people were injured after van hit a disabled truck on Highway 101 near Underpass Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened around 10:40 p.m. Monday. At a dark stretch of Highway 101, a truck reportedly broke down in the No. 2 lane. Subsequently, the truck’s driver and passenger exited the vehicle and began standing near the immobile car.
 
Moments later, a Ford Transit van traveling northbound slammed into the Chevrolet truck, which was stationary in its lane of travel. The force of the impact caused the Chevy to propel forward and strike the Chevy driver.
 
Responding authorities found debris and the two vehicles at the scene. Due to the accident, officials had to block all four lanes to investigate.
 
As a result of the crash, the Chevrolet truck driver suffered major injuries and the Ford Transit van driver suffered minor injuries.
