2 Injured in Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 145 near Storey Road [Madera, CA]

2 Pickup Trucks Collide on Highway 145 in Madera Injuring Two People

 
MADERA, CA (May 26, 2023) – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 145 outside Madera Tuesday afternoon on May 23.
 
The accident happened shortly after 1:00 p.m. just between Storey Road and Road 29. According to the California Highway Patrol, a GMC pickup truck was attempting to make a U-turn directly in front of a Ford pickup that was traveling westbound at approximately 55 mph.
 
The vehicles collided, causing major injuries on the GMC driver. The driver was flown to a local hospital in an unknown condition.
 
A woman on the passenger seat of the GMC sustained moderate to major injuries and was also transported to the hospital.
 
The driver of the Ford pickup, who was wearing a seatbelt, was unharmed.
 
CHP officials said drugs or alcohol appear not to be a factor in the crash. They added the driver making the U-turn did not pay attention when attempting to do so.
 
An investigation into this crash is ongoing.
