Big Rig Overturns after Colliding with Car on 880 Freeway in Oakland

 
OAKLAND, CA (January 4, 2023) – Two people were injured in a big rig accident on 880 Freeway in Oakland early Friday morning on December 30.
 
The accident happened around 2:00 a.m. along the northbound freeway at Fruitvale Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the big rig pulling a trailer collided with a black Infinity in the far right lane and overturned across all lanes. The driver of the black Infiniti said they were out of their vehicle checking their tire when the big rig struck the car. A third vehicle also got involved in the crash.
 
Two drivers suffered injuries from the crash.
 
At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
