Traffic Accident on Cardiff Street in San Diego Seriously Injures Teen Driver
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 20, 2024) – An 18-year-old man was seriously injured in a traffic accident on Cardiff Street in San Diego early Wednesday morning on June 19.
The accident happened around 12:15 a.m. at San Vicente Street. According to the San Diego Police Department, the young man was driving a Toyota Camry southbound on Cardiff Street. At the same time, a 20-year-old man was driving a Tesla Model Y eastbound on San Vicente Street.
The Toyota failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection with San Vicente Street and collided with the driver side of the Tesla.
As a result of the crash, the driver of the Toyota sustained a fractured hip and laceration to his head. Paramedics took him to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver and passengers of the Tesla were unharmed.
Alcohol was determined to not be a factor in the crash. The SDPD Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
