15-Year-Old Killed in 2-Car Crash at Barton Road in Granite Bay

 
GRANITE BAY, CA (July 18, 2023) — A 15-year-old girl died in a 2-car accident at Barton Road and Douglas Boulevard.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-vehicle collision happened around 5:40 p.m. Sunday. For an unknown reason, a driver of a Jeep did not stop at a red traffic light and crashed into a 2003 Cadillac Escalade moving through the intersection.
 
Upon impact, a 15-year-old in the passenger side back seat of the Jeep was partially ejected as the vehicle overturned. She died later at a hospital.
 
The 16-year-old Jeep driver and his 16-year-old female passenger suffered minor injuries and were transported to Sutter Roseville Medical Center. The solo occupant of the Escalade, a 17-year-old male, reported no injuries.
 
At this time, authorities do not know what led to the crash. However, an investigation into the details should reveal more information.
