Man Hurt, Detained in Police Chase Crash near Highway 65 in Placer County

 
PLACER COUNTY, CA (July 18, 2023) — A man was injured and arrested following a police chase accident near Highway 65 and Ferrari Ranch Road.
 
According to the Wheatland Police Department, the crash happened Saturday morning. Upon noticing a vehicle involved with multiple hit-and-run collisions throughout Wheatland, officers attempted a traffic stop on the driver. However, the driver failed to comply, and a chase unfolded.
 
During the pursuit, the man drove south on the highway at speeds of 124 miles per hour with no headlights on. At some point, police initiated a second traffic stop.
 
Subsequently, the driver struck a tree near Sun City, and police initiated a felony stop. At the scene, officers uncovered a loaded shotgun on his lap, which was disarmed by authorities before they took him into custody.
 
The man suffered unknown injuries and received care at Sutter Roseville Medical Center before police booked him into South Placer County Jail.
