Spring Lake Eighth Grader Suffers Critical Injuries after Hit by Car on Hoen Avenue in Santa Rosa
SANTA ROSA, CA (January 24, 2023) – A 13-year-old boy was critical after a pedestrian accident on Hoen Avenue in Santa Rosa Thursday morning on January 19.
The accident happened around 8:39 a.m. near the intersection of Arroyo Sierra Circle, just west of Summerfield Road. According to the Santa Rosa Police Department, the Spring Lake eighth grader crossed Hoen Avenue using a crosswalk when a white Honda CR-V heading eastbound hit him.
As a result, the victim suffered severe injuries, including to his head. Paramedics rushed him to Oakland children’s hospital in critical condition.
The Honda’s driver, a man in his 30s from Santa Rosa, immediately stopped and cooperated with police.
There was no evidence that the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Further investigation is underway.
