Ronald Steele Killed in Pedestrian Crash on China Grade Loop near Bedford Way

 
OILDALE, CA (November 15, 2024) — Ronald Steele died in a pedestrian accident Wednesday morning on China Grade Loop near Bedford Way.
 
According to the Kern County Coroner’s Office, 39-year-old Ronald Thomas Steele, of Bakersfield, passed away in the pedestrian accident. Authorities responded to reports of a pedestrian accident around 5:46 a.m. Upon arriving, police learned that a westbound Toyota struck Steele, who reportedly walked directly into the path of the Toyota outside of a marked crosswalk.
 
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police investigators. However, the police did not confirm the leading cause of the crash.
