Car Hits and Critically Injures Child on Belmont Avenue in Central Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (October 3, 2023) – A 10-year-old boy was critically injured in a pedestrian accident at Belmont Avenue and Abby Street in central Fresno on Saturday afternoon.
 
The accident happened just after 4:30 p.m. on September 30. According to the Fresno Police Department, the child was collecting donations in the area for a family member’s funeral when a car heading east on Abby struck him.
 
After striking the child, the driver pulled over and called 911.
 
Paramedics arrived and rushed the child to Community Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
 
Drugs and alcohol are not factors in the crash, which is still under investigation.
