1 Suspect Killed, 4 Deputies Injured in Pursuit Crash on Stony Point Road [Santa Rosa, CA]

Shootout Leads to Pursuit Crash on Stony Point Road in Santa Rosa Killing the Suspect

 
SANTA ROSA, CA (March 5, 2024) – A suspect was killed and four deputies were injured in a pursuit crash on Stony Point Road in Santa Rosa early Monday morning.
 
Around 12:10 a.m. on March 4, deputies responded to a report of a shootout in the Bellevue Ranch neighborhood. Upon arrival, the suspect fled the scene, leading to the chase.
 
During the chase, the suspect stopped, fired shots and the deputies returned fire.
 
The suspect then crashed his small white car through a fence near Stony Point Road. He died at the scene.
 
Four Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies were injured. One suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, two had injuries to their hands and one deputy suffered a head injury.
 
The deputy with a head injury is in critical but stable condition.
 
The Santa Rosa Police Department is handling the investigation.
