ORICK, CA (November 28, 2023) — One person required extrication following a semi-truck crash on Highway 101 near Lost Man Creek Trail.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened around 8:20 a.m. Monday. Under unclear circumstances, a semi-truck and a sedan collided, sending the sedan onto its roof.
 
Shortly after, paramedics responded just north of the Prairie Creek Fish Hatchery, and found the sedan occupant trapped. After assessing the situation, firefighters freed the victim from the wreckage and called a helicopter to airlift the victim to a hospital.
 
According to a report, five people reported unknown injuries in the collision, which forced a closure on the highway in both directions until 2:01 p.m.
