CHULA VISTA, CA (December 1, 2023) — One person died in a pedestrian accident on Bonita Road near the 805 Freeway Wednesday evening.
 
According to the Chula Vista Police Department, the deadly pedestrian accident happened around 7:50 p.m. Upon receiving a call, authorities responded to a Starbucks parking lot at 3047 Bonita Road. Upon arriving, they found a pedestrian who had been hit by a car, driven by a 75-year-old driver.
 
Subsequently, fire department personnel transported the victim to UCSD Hillcrest Hospital, where the individual passed away.
 
At the time of the report, traffic investigators did not reveal the person’s name, resident or age. Authorities did confirm that alcohol and drugs did not play a factor in the accident after questioning the driver. However, the case remains under investigation.
