SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA (September 9, 2022) — One person died in a car accident on Highway 92 near Old Canada Road early Thursday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal single-car accident took place around 4:45 a.m. at the Crystal Springs Reservoir and the 280 Freeway.
 
For unknown reasons, a driver lost control and veered off the right side of the westbound roadway.
 
Soon after, police officers and the coroner’s office responded to the scene around 5:30 a.m.
 
Authorities placed a one-way traffic control due to the investigation and cleanup. Still, the leading cause of the accident is unavailable. However, if any witnesses have information to share, please contact the CHP.
