1 Person Struck, Killed by Vehicle on 580 Freeway in Castro Valley

 
CASTRO VALLEY, CA (August 31, 2023) — One person was hit and killed by a car on the 580 Freeway near Eden Canyon Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened around 2:36 a.m. Sunday. For an unknown reason, a driver of a white 2021 Chevy Trailblazer traveled to the right shoulder. Subsequently, the driver struck a driver standing outside of his 2021 Ford E-Transit van.
 
As a result of the accident, the pedestrian passed away. Authorities do not have his name or residence. If anyone has seen this crash, please call the Dublin CHP office at 925-828-0466.
