KINGSBURG, CA (April 22, 2024) — One person died after a train hit a car near Golden State Boulevard and Stroud Avenue.
 
According to the Kingsburg Police Department, the fatal train crash happened around 9:00 p.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, a southbound train struck a white SU, occupied by the driver. Subsequently, the train continued southbound following the impact.
 
Soon after, authorities responded to the scene and confirmed the driver of the SUV deceased. Officials have not released the person’s name.
 
During the investigation, authorities learned that there were crossing arms at the tracks but were unsure how the collision occurred. As of Thursday, police released no details regarding the use of drugs or alcohol. However, an investigation into this crash should confirm any unclear details.
