Fatal Head-On Crash on Highway 99 near Rowles Road [Chico, CA]

One Person Killed in Chico Head-On Accident on Highway 99

 
CHICO, CA (May 17, 2022) — One person died in a head-on crash on Highway 99 near Rowles Road on Friday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle accident happened around 3:00 p.m. For unknown reasons, a Chevrolet Malibu and a silver Cadillac sedan collided head-on. As a result of the force, a man was pinned inside the Cadillac.
 
Shortly after, firefighters arrived at the scene and extricated the victim from the vehicle. After that, they transported at least two people to Enloe Medical Center in Chico.
 
At the scene, paramedics confirmed one fatality. However, authorities included no information on the victim’s name and the leading cause of the crash.
 
Investigators believe a white Toyota Corolla that took off from the scene might have been involved in the incident. If anyone has more information on this accident, please contact the CHP.
