1 Person Killed in Long Beach Box Truck Crash on 405 Freeway

 
LONG BEACH, CA (January 17, 2022) — One person died in a box truck accident on the 405 Freeway near Atlantic Avenue.
 
According to reports, the fatal crash happened sometime in the evening near the Atlantic Avenue exit. Under unclear circumstances, a box truck shuttling multiple occupants crashed on the 405 Freeway. As a result, the box truck caught on fire and immediately drew firefighters to the scene.
 
Soon after, Long Beach firefighter-paramedics arrived and brought one person to a hospital in critical condition.
 
Unfortunately, another person succumbed to his or her injuries at the scene.
