Rider Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Highway 65 in Placer County

 
PLACER COUNTY, CA (January 25, 2024) — One person died in a motorcycle accident on Highway 65 near Sunset Boulevard.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal motorcycle accident happened around 6:50 p.m. Tuesday. For speed-related reasons, a motorcycle rider lost control while approaching slow-moving traffic. Subsequently, the motorcyclist struck the rear of a Ford F-250 truck. Upon impact, the motorist was ejected from the bike and landed on the highway before being hit by an oncoming Chrysler.
 
Tragically, the motorcyclist passed away. No one else reported any injuries in the accident. Although detectives have not identified the cause, they suspect alcohol to have played a part.
