1 Killed, 2 Injured in Rollover Accident on Highway 1 [San Francisco, CA]

1 Dead after Solo Car Accident on Highway 1 near Palmetto Avenue in San Francisco

 
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (January 3, 2024) – One person died and two others sustained injuries in a rollover accident on Highway 1, Monday evening.
 
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the incident happened on January 1, at about 8:26 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a vehicle became involved in a collision and overturned in the southbound lanes near Palmetto Avenue.
 
Then, the vehicle came to rest on a city street.
 
Emergency crews found one person lying on the ground. The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, two other people suffered life-threatening injuries. Responders transported them to a local hospital for treatment.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
