Fatal Newark Three-Car Accident on Cherry Street

 
NEWARK, CA (August 28, 2022) – One person died and another was seriously injured in a three-car accident on Cherry Street in Newark early Saturday morning, August 27.
 
The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. near Mowry Avenue. According to the Newark Police Department, three cars collided at the intersection for unknown reasons.
 
When officers arrived, they found a total of five people at the scene.
 
The driver of one of the cars was pronounced dead on the scene. Their identity was withheld pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics took another driver to a hospital with major but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The other passengers and the driver of the third car also sustained unspecified injuries.
