Car Crashes on Highway 242 in Concord Killing the Driver and Badly Injuring the Passenger

 
CONCORD, CA (July 4, 2023) – A driver died and a passenger was badly injured in a car Accident on Highway 242 in Concord early Sunday morning on July 2.
 
The fatal accident happened around 1:54 a.m. at the Concord Avenue off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, a blue Nissan Sentra was traveling southbound on the highway when it struck the guardrail for unknown reasons.
 
As a result, the driver died at the scene. The right front passenger was ejected from the car and suffered major injuries.
 
The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased once family members are notified.
