DEATH VALLEY, CA (October 31, 2023) — One person was injured after a motorcycle crashed into a camper van on Highway 190 near Towne Pass.
 
According to park officials, the two-vehicle crash happened in Death Valley National Park on Saturday. In an attempt to avoid a slow-moving tarantula crossing the road, visitors from Switzerland swerved in the rented camper van. As a result, a 24-year-old Canadian man on a motorcycle plowed into the rear of the couple’s van.
 
Soon after, paramedics arrived and took the motorcycle rider to Desert View Hospital in Pahrump for care. The tarantula involved in the accident was unharmed, and reports did not say if the pair in the van reported any injuries.
