Several Hurt in Fatal Head-On Crash on Byron Highway in Byron

 
BYRON, CA (June 16, 2022) — One person died, and several others suffered injuries in a head-on accident on Byron Highway near Camino Diablo.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol officials, the fatal car crash happened around 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. For unknown reasons, a driver lost control of a vehicle and crashed head-on into a Chevy Suburban shuttling nine people.
 
As a result, eight people suffered a range of injuries, four of which needing hospital care.
 
Soon after, emergency personnel reached the scene and confirmed one fatality. Meanwhile, paramedics brought several others with injuries to a nearby hospital for treatment.
 
At this time, investigators have not confirmed the ultimate cause of the accident. However, if anyone has more information, please call the CHP.
