Reckless Driving Leads to Deadly Fiery Crash at Tehachapi Willow Springs Road and Backus Road
KERN COUNTY, CA (June 16, 2022) – Seanjay Sharma died in a fiery accident at Tehachapi Willow Springs Road and Backus Road in an unincorporated community of Kern County on Wednesday evening.
The fatal accident happened around 8:38 p.m. on June 15 just outside Mojave. According to the California Highway Patrol, one car was driving recklessly when it collided into another vehicle. The impact caused both vehicles to burst into flames.
The Kern County Fire Department crews responded and extinguished the fire.
Sharma, a 37-year-old resident of Marina Del Rey, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was one of the drivers.
After the crash, crews shut down all lanes in both directions for the cleanup and investigation. It is unclear at this time if speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
