1 Killed in 5 Freeway Crash in San Diego

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 23, 2024) — One person died, and several others were injured Saturday night in an accident on the 5 Freeway near Imperial Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened in downtown San Diego around 10:10 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a victim believed to either be a pedestrian or a motorcyclist crashed and ended up on the freeway lanes.
 
Subsequently, CHP officers and paramedics arrived to find several people requiring medical assistance and one person deceased. Officials have not released the person’s identity.
