1 Killed in Fiery Multi-Car Crash on 5 Freeway in Tustin

 
TUSTIN, CA (October 10, 2023) — One person died in a fiery multi-car accident on the 5 Freeway near Jamboree Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal multi-vehicle crash happened around 3:53 a.m. Monday. For an unknown reason, at least five cars collided, resulting in a fiery collision.
 
Soon after, paramedics arrived to find several cars and four injured patients. Due to their conditions, paramedics brought three of them to a hospital but the fourth one declined hospital care.
 
Also at the scene, emergency personnel found one fatal victim. However, officials have not released the person’s identity.
 
Due to the fiery accident, CHP crews issued a Sigalert at 4:10 a.m. for all northbound lanes and diverted traffic off Culver Drive in Irvine. If anyone has insight into what led to this accident, please call the CHP.
