VENTURA COUNTY, CA (August 14, 2023) — One person died, and five others were injured in a multi-car accident on Highway 1 near Las Posas Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-car accident happened around 4:35 p.m. Friday. For an unknown reason, a BMW driver heading southbound swerved over the solid double yellow lines of the highway. Subsequently, it struck a northbound Ford truck. Upon impact, the truck careered into the southbound lanes and slammed into an oncoming southbound Honda.

Moments later, authorities responded to the scene and found the driver of the BMW with fatal injuries. Authorities did not release the individual’s name, however.
