1 Killed, 5-Vehicle Crash on 215 Freeway in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (February 13, 2024) — One person died in a 5-car accident on the 215 Freeway near Martin Luther King Boulevard.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal multi-car accident happened on the southbound 215 Freeway around 2:20 a.m. For an unknown reason, five sedans collided in the middle of the freeway. Soon after, Riverside Fire Department crews responded and pronounced one person deceased on arrival. Officials did not release the victim’s name.
 
In addition, another motorist suffered unspecified wounds and received care at the scene.
 
Due to the crash, debris scattered throughout the highway and prompted a closure for all lanes except the carpool. If anyone saw this accident and can help traffic investigators determine the cause, please call the CHP.
