1 Dead, 1 Injured in DUI 2-Car Accident at Capitol Expressway and Snell Avenue [San Jose, CA]

1 Person Killed, 1 Hospitalized in DUI 2-Car Crash at Capitol Expressway in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (July 21, 2023) — One person died in a DUI 2-car accident at Capital Expressway and Snell Avenue.
 
According to San Jose police, the fatal two-vehicle crash happened around 1:11 a.m. Thursday. For DUI-related reasons, a 2006 Nissan SUV driver blew through a red traffic light. Subsequently, the Nissan SUV struck a 2006 Scion sedan at the intersection.
 
Upon impact, both men were ejected from the Scion. One of them passed away at a hospital and the other man remains hospitalized in critical condition.
 
Per the investigation, the Nissan SUV driver was believed to be impaired and arrested soon after. Authorities do not have the name of the suspect or the victim. However, the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office will release the name once they notify family members.
