Driver Runs Stop Sign and Causes Car Accident on Dinuba Avenue in Fresno County
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (June 30, 2021) – A driver needed hospitalization following a car accident on Dinuba Avenue, Monday morning.
As per reports, the incident happened on June 28, at about 4:40 a.m. A Jeep Grand Cherokee ran a stop sign while eastbound on Dinuba Avenue. Then, the Jeep collided with a northbound Ford Super Duty pickup near Lac Jac Avenue.
The impact of the collision caused the pickup truck to hit a utility pole and catch fire.
The driver of the pickup truck was able to exit the vehicle and did not sustain injuries.
Meanwhile, an air ambulance transported the Jeep driver to Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno. Authorities did not release the name of the injured driver.
PG&E crews later arrived at the scene to repair the damaged utility pole.
Officials continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
