Pilot Dies after Two Planes Collide Mid-Air and Land on 47th Street in Lancaster

 
LANCASTER, CA (September 23, 2024) – One person was killed in a plane crash at 47th Street East and Avenue F in Lancaster on Sunday afternoon.
 
The fatal crash happened around 12:50 p.m. on September 22. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Lancaster Station, two Cessna aircrafts collided mid-air in unclear circumstances.
 
One of the planes came down in the area of 47th Street East and Avenue F, and the other in the area of 60th Street East and Avenue G.
 
One pilot was pronounced dead at the scene and the other reported no injuries.
 
The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
It was unclear what happened before the aircraft collided. Further investigation is underway.
