Jose Ramirez Dies in DUI Bicycle Crash on Fruitridge Road near 88th Street

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (June 12, 2024) — Jose Ramirez died in a DUI bicycle accident on Fruitridge Road near 88th Street.
 
According to the Sacramento Police, the fatal bicycle accident happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday. For DUI-related reasons, a driver lost control and struck a 36-year-old male cyclist in the New Brighton section of the city. Subsequently, Sacramento Fire Department officials arrived at the scene to find the unresponsive male in the road, later identifying him as Jose Valladolid Ramirez, of Sacramento. Despite efforts to save Ramirez, paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
Following the crash, authorities took the driver, who appeared to be intoxicated, to a hospital for treatment of injuries. Police arrested him in connection with drug possession and DUI.
