Trike Rider Dies after Crash with Dump Truck on Highway 128 in Napa County

 
NAPA COUNTY, CA (September 24, 2023) Bobby Patton was killed in a motorcycle accident in Napa County Tuesday afternoon on September 19.
 
The fatal accident happened around 2:40 p.m. on Highway 128 just east of Wragg Canyon Road near Lake Berryessa. According to the California Highway Patrol, Patton was riding his motorcycle-like trike when he crossed the double-yellow center line into the path of a dump truck. He then crashed into the truck’s left side on a curve, throwing him onto the pavement.
 
Patton suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 67-year-old Winters resident, according to the Napa County Coroner’s Office.
 
Caltrans reported a small amount of congestion on the curvy, mountain highway due to the closure.
 
Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash, which is under investigation.
